Ashleigh is an artist who utilizes symbolism to explore environmental issues and gender studies through painting, sculpture, and working with wool. She is interested in pursuing local, sustainable fiber systems and natural dyes as an alternative to commercially manufactured goods. Aftter joining the Newforest team for a season of in-depth, hands-on work in permaculture gardens incorporating her passion for local food, wild medicinals, and native edible plants, Ashleigh is staying on through the winter as the Winter Kitchen and Garden Apprentice. Ashleigh spent the last year as a work-share CSA member of Heirloom Harvest Community Farm in Massachusetts.
